Ubiquitous computing is a human-computer interaction in which information processing has been thoroughly integrated into everyday objects and activities. All models of ubiquitous computing share a vision of small, inexpensive, robust networked processing devices, distributed at all scales throughout everyday life. The ubiquitous sensor network is a core technology that can realize the vision of ubiquitous computing.
In order to procure the core and application technologies of ubiquitous sensor network and respond to the demands for adopting ubiquitous sensor network technologies in diverse application areas, Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) research center, one of the Gyeonggi Regional Research Center of Gyeonggi Provence, was established in Hanyang University on January 2007.
The USN research center focuses on the research and development activities including System-on-Chip (SOC) and embedded software for wireless sensor network, and applications of wireless sensor network technology to building/home automation, industrial automation and robot systems. The USN research center also concentrate on the research activities to solve the ever-increasing energy and environment problems using USN technologies.
The USN research center will continue to respond to the demands from industries located in Gyeonggi province by providing innovative solutions developed by the our researchers. All the members of USN research center will play the role of pioneers in developing USN technologies and advancing the IT technologies in Korea.
